Biography
Chris Davis was born locally in Leamington Spa, as one of the fifth generation of his family in the town. Educated at Warwick School, he went on to gain an Honours degree in Physics at Birmingham University. He pursued his professional career as a Chartered Physicist and Engineer almost entirely within the GEC/Marconi Telecommunications Group in a variety of responsibilities covering basic research, technical systems development, overseas sales and customer training.
In 1991 he was elected to Warwick District Council becoming Mayor of Leamington in 1996/7 and Chair of the Council in 2004/5. He was elected to Warwickshire County Council in 1993, a founder member of the Police Authority in 1996 and Council Chair in 2006/7. He is Chair of the Warwickshire Pension Fund Investment Board.
He is a strong supporter of community action and a long standing board member of Bath Place Community Venture in his Milverton County Division. He is a member and former President of Leamington Rotary Club and also an active member of St. Marks Church in Leamington.
His spare time revolves around learning European languages with U3A, playing bridge, practising golf and attempting Pilates.
