Biography
David Clarke was born locally, in Nuneaton. Educated at King Edward VI Grammar School, he subsequently gained an honours degree in Mathematical Economics at Leicester University.
His career started in Leicester City Council, where he qualified as an accountant with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy (CIPFA). He moved back to Warwickshire in 1986, joining Warwickshire County Council.
He became Treasurer to the Police Authority on his appointment as County Treasurer of Warwickshire County Council in 2000, and has remained with the Authority since.
In his spare time he is a keen musician, gardener and film buff.
