This is the result of a telephone survey that was conducted in this area, which asked local people whether they agree that:

“The police and local council are dealing with the anti-social behaviour and crime issues that matter in this area”.

Care should be taken in making comparisons in local indicators that have used different survey techniques.

Technical foot note.

The survey is based on a random sample of people in the local area, with a booster quota sample of “top-up” responses. The use of a random sample with a quota booster sample seeks to ensure the results are broadly representative of the local population. Quota samples may, however, inadvertently introduce unknown sources of statistical bias.

Chief Inspector Mike Wylde explains further:

“These local surveys results are individual targets to monitor how we are performing as a force and reflect the views of local people on a CDRP or CSP level."

“The results of the surveys have been recorded by dividing the county into four main CDRP/CSP areas; North Warwickshire, Nuneaton and Bedworth, Stratford and Warwick, and Rugby."

“Warwickshire Police is pleased that the results of the survey show that 43.9% of those completing the survey in Nuneaton and Bedworth , 52.6% of respondents in Rugby, 56.2% of respondents in North Warwickshire and 57.6% of respondents in South Warwickshire believe the police and local council are dealing with the anti-social behaviour and crime issues that matter in this area. ”

“We hope that these results show that the public know we are committed to protecting them from harm and we strive to improve on these figures in the future.”

CDRPs and CSPs

Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRPs) and Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) consist of representatives from Warwickshire Police, local authorities, and other agencies working together to reduce crime and disorder across Warwickshire.

This is achieved through listening and acting upon the concerns of the local community at forums, whilst taking into account police, partner and national priorities. CDRPs/CSPs also determine the levels of crime and disorder issues in their areas and develop strategies, which include ways to address priority problems.

There are currently four CDRPs/CSPs in Warwickshire, based at District and Borough level.

  • South Warwickshire Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (covering Stratford and Warwick areas)
  • Rugby Community Safety Partnership
  • North Warwickshire Community Safety Partnership
  • Nuneaton and Bedworth Safer Communities Partnership

Each respective agency is committed to protecting communities by tackling crime, providing treatment and support services and issuing relevant information to residents.
